Teamwork in tandem

Two of our intrepid employees have really taken ‘teamwork in tandem’ to heart with the aim of raising funds for this year’s company charity Simon’s Heroes.

Lee Arnold (left) and James Bull are now in training for a 150-mile cycle ride from our main office in Tamworth to Blackpool, over three days, setting off on 3 August.

Although Lee cycles to work regularly on his bike through the company’s Cycle2Work scheme, James hasn’t cycled for six years until recently. But the challenge is one they are ready to take, said James.

“I’d like to try and improve my fitness. So why not go from 0 to 150 miles! We’re a good team and it’s for a really great cause which is the extra motivation,” explained James.

The pair bought the second hand tandem specially for the challenge. They plan to give it a facelift before they set off.

“Just like us, the bike needs to get fit too.  So in between our training rides, visiting the gym and getting some team tandem cycle wear sorted, we’ll be giving the bike a facelift. The three of us will really look the part for the fundraising ride,” added Lee.
